Each family has special holiday traditions. Maybe in your house, it’s baking cookies from grandma’s favorite recipes or gathering the whole family to chop down a fresh Christmas tree at a local farm. For our 1st Franklin Financial family, one of our most beloved traditions involves turkeys — thousands and thousands of turkeys. 

For more than a decade, it’s been a labor of holiday love for us to partner with the folks at The Joy FM Atlanta radio station and Chick-fil-A for a series of annual T-Shirts for Turkeys events, and this year, we celebrated with our 20th Anniversary T-Shirts for Turkeys to mark this special milestone. 

If you’ve never been to a T-Shirts for Turkeys gathering, it’s definitely a moment worth experiencing. The vibe is always full of cheer, with music playing and a whole lot of holiday spirit. You see so much community pride as local people arrive to drop off a frozen turkey to share with another family or a donation of $10 cash or a $10 gift card. 

You can see how good this moment of giving makes them feel. And they’re even happier when volunteers give them a Joy FM t-shirt as a thank-you gift.

This year, our incredible community came together like never before, donating over 41,000 turkeys at 86 Chick-fil-A stops across Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida. A huge thank you to everyone who participated by donating a frozen turkey, $10, or a gift card. Your generosity helped make this the biggest year yet!

This is the 20th year of the Joy FM T-shirts for Turkeys event, and we’re so glad to have been the title sponsor for the past 12 years. We’re grateful to all of our employees and community members who come out each year to make this fundraiser a truly special experience.
